A Note on the Λ-structure on the Burnside Ring

Let G be a finite group and let S be a G-set. The Burnside ring of G has a natural structure of a λ-ring, {λ}n∈N. However, a priori λn(S), where S is a G-set, can only be computed recursively, by first computing λ1(S), . . . , λn−1(S). In this paper we establish an explicit formula, expressing λn(S) as a linear combination of classes of G-sets.

Calculating Magnetic Permeability Response of a Conducting Square Ring Structure

In the present work, we investigate the tunability of the magnetic response of a new structure. A lattice of periodically arranged close-packed square conducting rings has been studied for this purpose. Here, instead of enhancing the magnetic activity via resonance, like in split-ring resonators, we concentrate on the analysis of the interactions between these rings. The core idea is to design ...

On Skew Cyclic Codes over a Finite Ring

In this paper, we classify the skew cyclic codes over Fp + vF_p + v^2F_p, where p is a prime number and v^3 = v. Each skew cyclic code is a F_p+vF_p+v^2F_p-submodule of the (F_p+vF_p+v^2F_p)[x;alpha], where v^3 = v and alpha(v) = -v. Also, we give an explicit forms for the generator of these codes. Moreover, an algorithm of encoding and decoding for these codes is presented.

a typical graph structure of a ring

the zero-divisor graph of a commutative ring r with respect to nilpotent elements is a simple undirected graph $gamma_n^*(r)$ with vertex set z_n(r)*, and two vertices x and y are adjacent if and only if xy is nilpotent and xy is nonzero, where z_n(r)={x in r: xy is nilpotent, for some y in r^*}. in this paper, we investigate the basic properties of $gamma_n^*(r)$. we discuss when it will be eu...
